  1. A lot of people poo poo Monty Python but the realametic fan will double over in gut splitting fashion for the crazy hi-jinks of Previous Record. Listen to it a few hundred times and it'll grow on you.4/5(9).
  2. The Happy Valley Fairy Tale had originally been written for ‘Monty Python’s Fliegender Zirkus’, a special episode for German television. This particular sketch, as far as the record version was concerned, also allowed a Python to utter the ‘f word’ word for the first time. Jacquemin was under no illusions.
  3. I very much enjoyed this album. From the strange cover to the last bits of the fairy tale, it is a well-done comedy album. The best things about Monty Python's albums is that you can watch all the movies, see all the episodes of the Flying Circus, and even see the two German episodes of Fliegender Zirkus, and you'll still find new stuff on these records which the boys would write specifically 4/5(9).
  4. The Happy Valley Fairy Tale had originally been written for 'Monty Python’s Fliegender Zirkus', a special episode for German television. This particular sketch, as far as the record version was concerned, also allowed a Python to utter the ultimate swear word for the first time.
  5. Some of the material was later screened during the Pythons’ stage shows, and a fairy tale written by Cleese and his then-wife Connie Booth was adapted for “Monty Python’s Previous Record.” The English-language “Fliegender Zirkus” was broadcast in the U.K. in October , but both episodes were long unseen until their video release.
  6. An abridged version of "The Tale of Happy Valley" was recorded for the English language record Monty Python's Previous Record. "Colin 'Bomber' Harris vs Colin 'Bomber' Harris" and "I Want a Hearing Aid" were both originally performed on At Last the Show, which predated Monty Python.
  7. View credits, reviews, tracks and shop for the CD release of Monty Python's Previous Record on Discogs. Label: Virgin Records America, Inc. - 3 5 1 • Format: CD Reissue, Remastered • Country: US • Genre: Non-Music • Style: Comedy.
  8. Narrator: (John Cleese) Once upon a time, long, long ago, there lived in a valley far, far away in the mountains, the most contented kingdom the world had ever known. It was called 'Happy Valley', and it was ruled over by a wise old king called Otto.
